Dr. Suzanne Muha, DC
 

Dr. Suzanne Muha graduated with honours from the National College of Chiropractic in 1999. Since graduating, Dr. Muha has completed numerous continuing education courses specializing in Activator and Thompson Techniques. She has worked in various clinical settings expanding her knowledge, and relationships with fellow health practitioners. Dr. Muha decided on a career in Chiropractic after being adjusted as a child and experiencing first hand how effective a natural approach to disease was. Dr. Muha is sports minded, family oriented and is passionate about her work. She opened King West Village Chiropractic Clinic in 2002 and believes that optimal health can be enhanced through Chiropractic care.

 
   
Dr. Shannon McEwen
B.PHE, DC
 

Dr. McEwen takes a functional approach to care, incorporating chiropractic principles and contemporary medical acupuncture, in order for the individual to reach their maximum potential.
 
Her clients range from soccer moms to CEOs, infants to seniors, and weekend athletes to professional athletes.  She has also had the opportunity to be the personal therapist for International Recording Artists, traveling with them on their world tours.
 
Dr. McEwen received a Bachelor of Physical Education and Health degree from the University of Toronto and graduated from Southern California University of Health Science at the top of her class with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
 
Her constant thirst for knowledge and passion for healing complements her personal approach to care, looking at the entire person and treating each case as unique.  She performs a thorough assessment of the structural and functional aspects of a complaint and uses this information to provide the most relevant and effective treatment for each individual.  She treats those seeking care for a wide range of conditions from acute injuries to supportive care for chronic conditions.

   
Alex Dhavernas, RMT
 

Alex has been a registered massage therapist for over 10 years. He graduated from ICT Kikkawa College of Massage Therapy after graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Science. Alex has travelled and lived worldwide and has gained an appreciation for diversity which is evidenced in the various techniques he uses. Such skills include Swedish massage, joint and rhythmical mobilization, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue work and remedial exercise planning. As an avid mountain biker and tennis player, he enjoys treating conditions related to sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and postural dysfunctions.

   
Mary Owen, RMT
 

Mary Owen is a Registered Massage Therapist, with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). She graduated from the 3000 hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in British Columbia in 2008.

Prior to becoming a Massage Therapist, Mary received her Honours Degree from Brock University in Community Health. She focused on research in health promotion and injury prevention as well as workplace health, women's health issues and women in sport.

Mary has worked in multiple settings including rehabilitation hospitals, massage therapy clinics and spas. She has experience working with burns and scar tissue, pregnancies, headaches, postural dysfunctions, repetitive strain injuries and general relaxation for stress reduction. Experience as a swimmer, rower, and runner, Mary understands the stress and injuries to the body associated with training and competing.

Mary integrates a number of treatment techniques including Swedish massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Myofascial Release, Manual Lymph Drainage, and Joint Mobilization. She has also taken training in Hot Stone massage, which has many therapeutic benefits, including deep tissue relaxation. Working with clients to establish a thorough history and providing recommendations for client self care, Mary strives to alleviate symptoms to achieve client goals and prevent recurrence.

   
Marion Penny, RMT
 

Marion Penny took an active interest in anatomy, exercise, sports medicine and body mechanics and returned to school to complete the Registered Massage Therapy program at Sutherland Chan in 2008. Marion combines the clinical skills learned at Sutherland Chan with her passion for educating her clients on the importance of maintaining optimal health.

Marion worked alongside the various healthcare specialists at Lyndhurst Spinal Cord Rehabilitation where she experienced the benefits of Massage Therapy on spinal cord injuries as well as central nervous system impairments. At Women's College she worked in the high risk pregnancy unit assisting pre and post-partum women. Marion continued her clinical practice at Princess Margaret Hospital assisting cancer patients and increasing her knowledge of oncology.

Marion primarily practices deep tissue Swedish massage and also utilizes her training in lymphatic drainage, joint mobilization, patient education, pregnancy care and oncology. While Marion's experience is varied, her passion lies in sports massage, pre and post-pregnancy care and complex medical conditions. Marion is continuously expanding her clinical skills and is looking forward to meeting new clients at King West Village Chiropractic Clinic.

   
Kathleen Regan, B.Sc., ND
 

Kathleen Regan, ND completed four years of post-graduate medical education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. Her undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Toronto in Research Psychology where she focused on clinical research ranging from child development (The Hospital for Sick Children), to amnesiac rehabilitation (Baycrest Hospital) to human factors engineering (University of Toronto). Along with her naturopathic practice, Kathleen enjoys consultant work in the medical legal field and teaching part-time at CCNM.

Kathleen’s decision to pursue Naturopathic Medicine grew out of her personal interest in healthy lifestyle, physical fitness and health psychology. She approaches patient care with the philosophy that wellbeing depends upon a balance between physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states. ‘Dis-ease’ arises when the system is out of balance. Kathleen works with individuals using naturopathic therapies to re-establish balance and create a sense of well-being. She has a special interest in whole-foods nutrition, environmental medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy and mind-body medicine. She welcomes individuals of all ages and health care needs in her family practice.
